The German author Henryk M. Broder told the Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant (12 October 2006) that young Europeans who love freedom, better emigrate. Europe as we know it will no longer exist 20 years from now. Whilst sitting on a terrace in Berlin, Broder pointed to the other customers and the passers-by and said melancholically: “We are watching the world of yesterday.”
Europe is turning Muslim. As Broder is sixty years old he is not going to emigrate himself. “I am too old,” he said. However, he urged young people to get out and “move to Australia or New Zealand. That is the only option they have if they want to avoid the plagues that will turn the old continent uninhabitable.”
Many Germans and Dutch, apparently, did not wait for Broder’s advice. The number of emigrants leaving the Netherlands and Germany has already surpassed the number of immigrants moving in. One does not have to be prophetic to predict, like Henryk Broder, that Europe is becoming Islamic. Just consider the demographics. The number of Muslims in contemporary Europe is estimated to be 50 million. It is expected to double in twenty years. By 2025, one third of all European children will be born to Muslim families. Today Mohammed is already the most popular name for new-born boys in Brussels, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and other major European cities.
Broder is convinced that the Europeans are not willing to oppose islamization. “The dominant ethos,” he told De Volkskrant, “is perfectly voiced by the stupid blonde woman author with whom I recently debated. She said that it is sometimes better to let yourself be raped than to risk serious injuries while resisting. She said it is sometimes better to avoid fighting than run the risk of death.”
In a recent op-ed piece in the Brussels newspaper De Standaard (23 October) the Dutch (gay and self-declared “humanist”) author Oscar Van den Boogaard refers to Broder’s interview. Van den Boogaard says that to him coping with the islamization of Europe is like “a process of mourning.” He is overwhelmed by a “feeling of sadness.” “I am not a warrior,” he says, “but who is? I have never learned to fight for my freedom. I was only good at enjoying it.”
As Tom Bethell wrote in this month’s American Spectator: “Just at the most basic level of demography the secular-humanist option is not working.” But there is more to it than the fact that non-religious people tend not to have as many children as religious people, because many of them prefer to “enjoy” freedom rather than renounce it for the sake of children. Secularists, it seems to me, are also less keen on fighting. Since they do not believe in an afterlife, this life is the only thing they have to lose. Hence they will rather accept submission than fight. Like the German feminist Broder referred to, they prefer to be raped than to resist.
“If faith collapses, civilization goes with it,” says Bethell. That is the real cause of the closing of civilization in Europe. Islamization is simply the consequence. The very word Islam means “submission” and the secularists have submitted already. Many Europeans have already become Muslims, though they do not realize it or do not want to admit it.
Some of the people I meet in the U.S. are particularly worried about the rise of anti-Semitism in Europe. They are correct when they fear that anti-Semitism is also on the rise among non-immigrant Europeans. The latter hate people with a fighting spirit. Contemporary anti-Semitism in Europe (at least when coming from native Europeans) is related to anti-Americanism. People who are not prepared to resist and are eager to submit, hate others who do not want to submit and are prepared to fight. They hate them because they are afraid that the latter will endanger their lives as well. In their view everyone must submit.
This is why they have come to hate Israel and America so much, and the small band of European “islamophobes” who dare to talk about what they see happening around them. West Europeans have to choose between submission (islam) or death. I fear, like Broder, that they have chosen submission — just like in former days when they preferred to be red rather than dead.

The oldest brother of the Toulouse scooter killer, Mohamed Merah, denounces the role of his own father, mother, sister and brother in spawning a “monster” in his new book.
Abdelghani Merah, 36, says the youngest of his four siblings was raised in an “atmosphere of racism and hatred” but also of violence and neglect. He has written the book – “Mon Frère, ce terroriste” (My brother the terrorist) – to try to counter the hero-worship of Mohamed, 23, among some young French Muslims. “I am the killer’s brother but I am on the side of his victims,” he says.
Mohamed Merah murdered seven people, including three Jewish children, in a series of scooter-borne attacks in the Toulouse area in March. He was killed resisting arrest after a 36-hour police siege of his flat on 22 March.
In the book, and a newspaper interview and television documentary, Abdelghani Merah blames his parents for the way they raised their five children. He accuses his father, a convicted drug-dealer, of repeated child-beating and his mother of neglect. But he blames Mohamed’s attraction to the teachings of extremist and anti-Semitic Islam mostly on his own sister, Souad, and brother, Abdelkader. For a television documentary to promote the book broadcast on Sunday, Abdelgani helped to film his sister secretly as she proclaimed her “pride” in Mohamed and declared her hatred of Jews.
The second Merah brother, Abdelkader, 30, has been under arrest since March and is under investigation for complicity in the murders. Souad Merah, 32, has been questioned but has not been linked to the attacks.
In the documentary on the M6 TV channel, Souad was seen and heard saying: “I am proud of my brother. He fought until the end. I think the world of (Osama) Bin Laden. I told the cops as much and now I’m telling you.”
The young woman, who has links with the fundamentalist Salafist Islamic movement [correction: the Leftist extremist media never want to give their readers the truth. And truth is that there is no fundamentalist Islam and moderate Islam. Islam is Islam. Islam is a doctrine of hate and war], says at one point that she suspects she is being recorded. But she carries on: “Mohamed had the courage to act. I am proud, proud, proud… Jews, and all those who massacre Muslims, I detest them.”
In his book, Abdelghani Merah describes Abdelkader, or “Kader”, as a “tumour”. Abdelghani recalls that in 2003 his brother stabbed him seven times after he refused to give up a girlfriend with Jewish origins.
At the time, he said, he warned police in Toulouse that if there was ever a terrorist attack in the city they “only need to go after Kader”. Both Abdelkader and Souad were watched for many years by the French internal security services, leading to official criticism of their failure to track the evolution of their brother from club-goer and small-time criminal to terrorist.
In his book, Mr Merah paints a miserable picture of his own – and especially of Mohamed’s – childhood. He says his father, also called Mohamed Merah, “beat me so much that I could no longer feel the blows. He also struck Abdelkader a great deal. Mohamed less so, because he was too small.”
The future killer was four years old when his father abandoned the family, he said, and became a drug dealer, for which he was convicted and jailed. His mother, Zoulikha, then in her 30s, “went out all the time, had all kinds of scrapes and left Mohamed alone all day in front of the TV”.
At the age of eight, Mohamed was placed in care. “My mother said to him, ‘stay there during the week and I’ll come for you at weekends’. But she would never come and it drove him mad with unhappiness.”
Mr Merah also recalls visiting his mother’s house for a wake for Mohamed . There were whoops of joy, he said. People were congratulating his mother and saying “Be proud. Your son brought France to its knees”. “I screamed: ‘My brother is not a hero. He is a common assassin.'”

A ‘sadistic’ asylum seeker who forced his former girlfriend to witness him stabbing her sister and her friend to death after she refused to take him back has been jailed for life.
Afghan national Ahmad Otak laughed and spat on 17-year-old Kimberley Frank’s body after stabbing her 15 times at her home in Yorkshire while her sister Elisa watched helplessly.
He then tied his ex-partner up with electrical flex and lured her friend Samantha Sykes, 18, to Kimberley’s flat in Wakefield, where he stabbed the teenager repeatedly before slitting her throat.

Leeds Crown Court was told how Otak abducted his ex-girlfriend Elisa, 19, after killing the two women, using Miss Sykes’ car to drive to Dover in a failed bid to flee to France.
His plan was foiled when a fellow refugee managed to raise the alarm.
After being arrested the murderer claimed he was aided in the killing by Elisa Frank, who he had planned to marry.
Leeds Crown Court was told that Elisa had met Otak in a children’s home after he arrived in the UK from Afghanistan in 2007, claiming he was 16 years old.
The pair had an on-off relationship and had planned to marry in 2011, but when Otak became more controlling Miss Frank called off the wedding, the court heard.
Prosecutor Richard Mansell QC said: ‘He said that even if she didn’t marry him she could not leave him. He told her that he would go crazy and would kill people.’
He later claimed he was joking but later threatened to kill Elisa, her friends and members of family – including his eventual victims Samantha Sykes and Miss Frank’s sister Kimberley.
‘He told her that if she stayed with him she would be saving lives,’ Mr Mansell said.
On one occasion after Elisa had shouted at Otak he produced a knife and told her that if she screamed he would sew her mouth shut.
Mr.Mansell said Elisa was too frightened to report what had happened to the police but Samantha Sykes, 18, was not and reported Otak to the UK Border Agency as an illegal immigrant and contacted police, but no action was taken because Elisa declined to make a statement.
In September last year she finally decided to leave him for good but relented when he threatened to throw acid in her face and petrol bomb her mother’s house.
On one occasion Otak said he had prepared ‘kill list’ of 12 people he believed were trying to split the couple up.

In March this year Elisa Frank moved out of the flat they shared in Wakefield, West Yorks.
On March 9th after she demanded her belongings back from Otak, he went and bought a carving knife and went to Kimberley’s flat in Barden Road, Wakefield, where she was with Elisa, who had again refused to go back to Otak.
All three were in the hallway when Otak suddenly attacked Kimberley. ‘He stabbed and slashed her repeatedly with the knife in a frenzied attack,’ said Mr.Mansell.
She had 15 wounds, the court heard including a massive stab wound to the neck.

Otak took Miss Sykes car after he killed her and drove to to Dover in a bid to flee to FranceMr.Mansell said: ‘At one point he stood over Kimberley’s body, laughed, licked blood from the knife and spat on her.
‘He then told Elisa he was going to kill more people and made her send several text messages to Samantha Sykes, asking her to come to the flat.’
He then tied Elisa up with electrical flex. When Samantha arrived at the flat Otak let her in and then attacked her, stabbing and slashing her repeatedly.
After the killings Otak took his ex-girlfriend and drove to Dover in Miss Sykes’ car in a bid to flee to France, but was arrested when an Iranian illegal immigrant who was trying to get out of the UK helped Elisa get free after she told him her story as they tried to board a lorry.
After his arrest Otak claimed he had carried out the killings for Elisa ‘whose plan it was’, telling police ‘she forced me to do this thing. She said “kill my sister and friend”.’
He said he killed Samantha because she was a model and he was jealous of her.
Mr.Jonathan Turner QC, defending said that although the ‘horror of his actions can not be explained’ he said they were the actions of a man not in full control of his own mind.
Jailing Otak for 34 years, less 241 days spent in custody, Mr.Justice Coulson told him it was an ‘horrific case’.

Residents in their Jewish neighborhood are stunned following the incident.
Marseilles is home to some 80,000 Jews – 10 percent of the general population but a small fraction compared to the 250,000 Muslims with whom they also live. It has been relatively quiet France’s second-largest city this year, compared to other areas in the country where violent anti-Semitism has been on the rise.

The “blasphemous” book Sex, Sharia and Women in the History of Islam is about how Islam and Sharia law are allegedly used to oppress Muslim women. “I wanted to prove how oppressed women are in Islam and that they have no rights,” said Mr. Halabjaee.
“My book is based on Islamic sources such as the Holly Quran, Muslim and Bukhari books and many more.”
Mr. Halabjaee was forced to flee to Norway from Iraqi Kurdistan because the Islamic League of Kurdistan issued a “conditional” fatwa to kill him if he did not repent and apologize for writing his book. The “conditional” nature of the fatal fatwa was uncertain at best. Mr. Halabjaee reported, “the mullahs and scholars said if I go to them and apologize they will give me 80 lashes and then refer me to the fatwa committee to decide if I am to be beheaded. They might forgive me, they might not.”
Mr. Halabjaee received telephone calls saying, “Now, in 10 years or 15 years, we will kill you.” Another time, Mr. Halabjaee reported, “the Islamists said once from the radio, if they found out where I was, they would blow themselves up with me.” The worst thing was realizing his wife and children were in danger. “With that book I wanted to defend women but the first thing I did was hurt my wife.” As a result, Mr. Halabjaee went into hiding with his pregnant wife and three children.
Mr. Halabjaee fled Iraqi Kurdistan after the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) refused to offer him any protection or to arrest those who threatened his life. “The Kurdish authorities have not provided any protection from threats and fatwas,” said Mr. Halabjaee, “any moment I am expecting a bullet or a hand grenade to be thrown into where I live.”
In response to the Halabjaee affair, the KRG Minister of Religious Issues, Dr. Mohammad Gaznayi, told protestors that according to the law of Iraqi Kurdistan, “defamation” or “criticizing” religion or religious figures is a crime and its punishment is severe. “We will give those who attack our prophets a sentence so that they can be a lesson for everyone,” said Dr. Gaznayi. [Dr. Gaznayi is the same KRG Minister of Religious Issues who said, “I consider that those who turn to Christianity pose a threat to society.”] Mr. Halabjaee was in possession of a warrant for his arrest issued by the Suleimaniya police department when he fled Iraqi Kurdistan.

In August 2006, Mr. Halabjaee was granted political asylum in Norway.
In December 2007, Mr. Halabjaee was convicted in absentia in Iraqi Kurdistan for the crime of blasphemy. A court in Halabja sentenced Mr. Halabjaee to prison for writing that the prophet Mohammed had 19 wives, married a 9-year-old when he was 54 years old, and committed murder and rape. Mr. Halabjaee remains in hiding in Norway. The sentence states that he will be arrested upon his return to Iraqi Kurdistan.
In September 2008, Mullah Krekar threatened to kill Mr. Halabjaee in an audio file published on the Kurdish website Renesans.nu. “I swear that we will not live if you live. Either you go before us, or we go before you,” said Krekar. Mullah Krekar was the original leader of the Islamist terrorist group Ansar al-Islam in Iraq. Mullah Krekar compared Mr. Halabjaee with, among others, Salman Rushdie and Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Ironically, Mullah Krekar, like Mr. Halabjaee, currently resides in Norway as a refugee. Since February 2003, Mullah Krekar has had an expulsion order against him in Norway. The order has been suspended, however, pending Iraqi government guarantees that Mullah Krekar will not face torture or execution.
In February 2012, Mullah Krekar confirmed in Oslo City Court that he had issued a twenty page fatwa against Mr. Halabjaee. The fatwa was sent to several hundred Islamic scholars around the world. While Mullah Krekar said he thought he might be able to “guarantee the safety” of Mr. Halabjaee, Mullah Krekar confirmed that his fatwa “implies” that it is “permissible” to kill Mr. Halabjaee in Oslo or anywhere else. Mullah Krekar compared Mr. Halabjaee to Theo van Gogh, the film director who was killed by an Islamist in the Netherlands in 2004.

A 28-year-old mother who smothered her baby to death with a copy of the Koran told police she was trying to save him from being possessed by the devil, a court has heard.
The five-month-old boy, who weighed just nine kilograms, was found with 39 wounds on his body at his home in Halmstad, Sweden, in July this year.
Most of his injuries were caused by being crushed and battered by the Muslim holy book, prosecutors said.
Evidence: The court heard how the mother smothered her baby to death with a Koran
‘The woman intentionally killed her child. She smothered it to death and the Koran was the murder weapon,’ prosecutor Anders Johansson told the court.
The 28-year-old mother, who admits the charges, claimed she had suffered weeks of hallucinations and visions where devil’s horns were growing from her son’s head.
‘I saw horns growing out of the baby’s forehead and long vines on his body. I saw an old man’s head on his body. I wanted to save my baby, not kill him,’ she told the court.
Defence lawyer Goran Ruthberg added: ‘My client was in a psychotic state. She had no intention to kill and considering how she was feeling, she had no way of predicting what might happen.’

The woman’s husband, who cried as he listened to the prosecution’s description of the horrific attack, has forgiven her, according to Expressen.se.
‘She was a good mother and a good wife. It is a horrible thing, but it was an accident,’ he said.
The couple, who are Muslims, reportedly met on the internet and married after a week.
The father said his wife was overjoyed at the birth of their child but her mental health soon deteriorated.
A medical examination found that the mother killed her child under the influence of a serious mental disorder.
She cannot be sentenced to prison if she is convicted of murder, according to the newspaper. The case continues.

I live with my son in the neighborhood ‘Bezuidenhout West’ in The Hague. During the past five years the neighborhood, in which we are living, have been subjected to change in population. It had become an Islamic African enclave. a) total control on our mail. They use to steal the letters, open it and subsequently drop it in our mailbox. If they think that we should not see a letter, we do not receive it.
b) In the morning of August 29, 2008, our home phone line was sabotaged by these people and shut down. Nobody can dial our number and get an answer.
c) Several attempts of sabotage on our electricity net, heating, water supply. Our heating is not working and the middle switch of the electricity box is shut down.
We are already the second winter in the cold, because the heating system is sabotaged.
d) frequently trying to hack in our internet connection with the purpose of sabotage.
My daughter internet account has been hacked and all files deleted. An hate e-mail was sent through her account in badly written Dutch.
e) Toxic substances (gases) are constantly pumped into our apartment. This is apparently done through holes in the floor and a special equipment.
Most actions against us are implemented by an African asylum seekers who are living one floor below our apartment. They came here out of the blue. The flat was between July to October 2008 officially empty, but was occupied by a clandestine group of Arabs or North Africans. The night before the arrival of the Africans, Arab-looking men were quickly shepherded inside furniture and household goods.
These practices are in this area very normal. Apartments which normally have to find their way to people with low income (subsidized by the government) are kidnapped by Muslim criminals and given to their own gang members, families or people with no staying permit who pay exorbitant rent.
The African family came here with ‘two children (boy and a girl both teenagers). Later they disappeared and two others were in place, including a boy of about (then) 13 years old.
It is not clear what the African asylum seeker does for a living. He is often at home at the time other men his age are working. Nevertheless, since his arrival in October 2008 he had several cars. Currently he drives a red Mazda, registrationnr. ….and green Opel, registration …
Besides these two cars, he has possession on a green Lance.
The toxic gases, which also include chlorine in it, are ruining our health. My son and I both show the same symptoms: nausea, dizziness, tingling in our hands, heart palpitations and severe fatigue. The Africans are mainly active at night. That in order to disrupt our sleep and b) slowly kill us.
Given their aggressive behavior lately, I assume that the intention now is to kill us quickly in a way that it would seem a natural death.
When the (direct and indirect) threats from the housing corporation staff and the criminals started, we decided to gather evidence in the form of video and audio material. This activity was to ensure our safety.
To clear outline of the situation, we add this one DVD with a self-made documentary. All material on the DVD we recorded (sound) and filmed.
We are aware of the situation and know that we have to act quickly. We intend to go into hiding, or it is with us.
Unfortunately, our beloved cat has to be placed in the shelter. It is an impossible task to be on the run and combine it with the care of a cat. The need to say goodbye to our cat breaks our heart literally and figuratively. We have her for nearly five years and we love her dearly.
We know that the letter seems bizarre. It is a surrealistic situation in a western European country that sees itself as a lawful state.
It is so terrible that our lives are so devastated because we happen to be in the wrong neighborhood. It turns out that the Netherlands, anno 2010, gradually the characteristics of a dictatorial South American banana republic being developed.

An al-Qaeda inspired gang of British Muslims planned to carry out “another 9/11” in the UK with up to eight suicide bombers, a court heard.

A Jihadist group, from Birmingham, were to target crowded areas to cause “mass death” in a terror plot that was set to be even more devastating than the 7/7 London bombings, Woolwich Crown Court was told.
Two of the alleged ringleaders had received terror training in Pakistan and made martyrdom videos to be released after they had “blown themselves up”.
They were taught in bomb-making, how to use weapons and poisons before returning to the UK to recruit others for their plot.
That included arranging for others to be sent to Pakistan for training as well.
They planned to detonate homemade bombs in up to eight rucksacks and may also have blown others up with bombs on timers.
A total of 11 men and one woman were arrested by police on various terrorism charges last September.
The details emerged as the trial began today of the three central plotters.
Irfan Naseer, 31, Irfan Khalid, 27, and Ashik Ali, 27, all unemployed from Birmingham, all deny a number of terror charges including planning a bombing campaign, recruiting others for terrorism and terrorism fundraising.
Brian Altman QC, prosecuting, told the court: “In September 2011, and after, officers of the West Midlands Counter-Terrorism Unit arrested a number of young men from the Birmingham area, who are resident in this country.
“With it the police successfully disrupted a plan to commit an act or acts of terrorism on a scale potentially greater than the London bombings in July 2005, if it had been allowed to runs its course.
“Although the finer details had not been worked out and agreed upon, the defendants were proposing to detonate up to eight rucksack bombs in a suicide attack and/or detonate bombs on timers in crowded areas in order to cause mass deaths and casualties.
“As you will hear, one of them was even to describe their plan as ‘another 9/11’.”
He added: “The defendants are jihadists – extremists, influenced, in particular, but not exclusively, by the lectures and writings of Anwar Al-Awlaki, a US born extremist of Yemeni descent, and an affiliate of Al-Qaeda on the Arabian Peninsula.”
Awlaki was killed by a drone attack just 12 days after the three men were arrested.
Mr Altman said: “Each of the defendants made the deliberate decision to become a terrorist, following, what they believed to be, the right path dictated by their extreme religious and ideological beliefs.”

What we see here is that Muslims have been allowed to move to peaceful countries but created violent ghettos out them, say they all carry guns and are themselves afraid to enter their own neighborhoods unless they have a chaperon. They lie about their status in the immigration process and many claim to have entered the country illegally. They create regular riots, burn cars, homes, attack people, sell drugs, refuse to integrate, and insist it is the host country who need to bend on their terms. One admits he wants to die as a martyr.
Now imagine when that population grows to 40%, 50% and so on? It’s a complete disaster. Muslims need to be removed from Europe.

The peaceful way to finish off the West

COPENHAGEN. The Islamist party Hizb ut-Tahrir’s annual Scandinavian conference on October 14 was a resounding success this year. In front of thousands of enthusiastic onlookers in Denmark and Sweden, a clear message was conveyed:
“Our goal is for the caliphate to cover the Muslim world, including Spain,” said “sheikh” Isam Umayrah.
The main venue is Bella Center in Copenhagen, but the conference also has live satellite links to four other venues in Denmark and one in Stockholm. Proceedings are also broadcast live on the Internet.
This rainy afternoon, Bella Center is transformed into a throng of women in full-length garments and headscarves and bearded men, mostly young people. A handful of journalists stand out like sore thumbs. Men and women are kept separate throughout the convention and the women are placed in the back of the room. However, three of the journalists, myself included, happen to also be women. Should we sit in the back with the other women, or in the front row where seats have been reserved for the journalists?
After some palavering back and forth, we finally get permission to sit with the men, in the front row. Everything is handled with smiles and a soft touch. But when the first speaker – Ismail al-Wahwah, born on The West Bank but currently living in Australia – takes to the stage the friendly atmosphere evaporates.
Someone in the audience shouts the Muslim battle cry “Takbir!” and the crowd immediately responds ”Allahu akhbar!” in deafening volume, a procedure that will be repeated over and over every time a speaker says something the crowd finds extra palatable.
Ismail al-Wahwah, as well as the other speakers and representatives of the party, is very open about what they want to achieve.
“The United States of America is our enemy, but we agree on one thing.
They say we want a new world order, and they’re right. It’s time for a new leadership, and we will make sure it is Islam,” says al-Wahwah.
Secular governments cannot safeguard the interests of Muslims, he claims. And the same goes for so-called “moderate Muslims”. Leaders such as Egypt’s Muhammad Mursi and Turkey’s Abdullah Gül are taken to the cleaners – they are still ”slaves under capitalism”.
“The people who want to find a happy medium are unbelievers and we have prepared a special punishment for them,” says keynote speaker “sheikh” Isam Umayrah.
The Shia Muslims of Iran also come in for their share of serious criticism; they have it wrong, but at least they are Muslims and hopefully, with a little bit of help they can be made to see the light, Umayrah philosophizes.
“The Arab Spring is only the beginning, but a very good and encouraging beginning. And now it’s too late to stop the progression, signs that the big change is imminent are everywhere,” says Umayrah.
He assures us nothing will be done in secret. The caliphate has to be located someplace that is easy to defend – Egypt, Turkey, Syria or Pakistan would be excellent starting points.
“After that, we will try to annex the neighboring countries as soon as possible. First by means of friendly talks, then on to step two, three, fyra and so on. No Muslim state except the Caliphate will be acknowledged,” Umayrah explains.
He also advocates radical, not gradual change and even suggests gradual change is prohibited in The Quran.
“It is haram (forbidden) to obey any law but that of Islam.”
The party media liaison, the well-spoken and well-dressed Chadi Freigeh, assures Dispatch International that The West has nothing to fear from Hizb ut-Tahrir. We can co-exist, he says, but the Muslims have to follow their own ways.
“We don’t want to impose our laws on the West. Sharia should be implemented where people want it, and it’s no secret that we have different values. We have to be honest and admit that all attempts to integrate the Muslims in the West have failed. That proves we need our own rules,” says Freigeh.
The Muslims living in the West should follow Shariah as best they can, but national laws take precedence, he explains. In the long run, the Caliphate will hopefully be global, but it should be done by peaceful means. Down the line, everyone will want Shariah since it is a system that doesn’t discriminate, according to Freigeh.
DI: How do you feel about Al-Qaida?
“I don’t condone actions against civilians, but one should remember that 9/11 was a reaction to long-term oppression by the United States against the Muslim world. Oppression has consequences, and now the U.S. is using 9/11 as an excuse to occupy Afghanistan.”
DI: To what extent and in what way should you perform Jihad?
“Jihad is always presented as something dangerous and terrible in the Western media, but that is not the case. Jihad protects the Muslims against threat and oppression. The Americans’ conduct in the Middle East calls for Jihad, but we need to adhere to certain rules. We don’t want to behave like the Americans did at Guantánamo for example; it is against Islam to treat people that way.
“But if we’re threatened, we must of course have a right to defend ourselves. I’m not Gandhi.”
FACTS/Hizb ut-Tahrir
Hizb ut-Tahrir, “The Freedom Party”, was founded in 1953 in Jerusalem and is now represented in over 40 countries across the world – among others, Sweden, Denmark and Great Britain. Even though the party is illegal in a number of Arab countries and Germany, it has approximately one million members.
The expressed goal is to create a global Islamic state, a Caliphate, under Shariah law. Officially, the party advocates non-violent means as a way to achieve this, but several leading members have been criticized for using harsh rhetoric against Israel and the United States.*
For instance, supreme leader Ata Abu-Rishta said in 2006 that the Jews in Israel, the Hindus of Kashmir and the Russians of Chechnya should be “destroyed”.
*Islamic warfare always – always – end with extreme violence once Muslims are a majority. It may be ‘peaceful’ now but it won’t remain.
